Honey for sale is the new gold.
That’s the verdict from some of the nation’s leading honey sellers.
Honey is a commodity with high potential to become the new premium crop in many households, especially in the coming years, according to Honey Gold.
“We’re really seeing a lot of honey being sold for $0.99,” said Tom Moore, Honey Gold’s director of business development.
Moore said he expects that price point to drop as the honey crop matures and honey prices rise.
A new study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture found that the honey industry’s profit margins fell by more than 40% last year and are projected to fall further.
The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization says honey is a major source of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants for the entire human diet.
It also has been shown to prevent diseases like diabetes, asthma, and cancer.
Honey is a valuable commodity in China, and a significant part of the country’s honey supply.
In addition to honey, Moore said the honey market is growing in the U and Europe.
The U.K. is also making inroads in honey production.
There are also new honey producers in the Caribbean, the Gulf Coast and Asia, Moore noted.
Many consumers have become increasingly conscious of health and environmental concerns, such as the recent coronavirus pandemic, Moore added.
Still, Moore cautions that honey will remain the most important commodity in the honey world for decades to come.
But consumers can take care of themselves if they are concerned about the impact of the pandemic on their honey supply, he said.
For example, the U!
honey label says: “Made with real honey from the United States and Europe.”
The label does not specify the honey is made with imported honey.
