Honeypot Target: Tenneessee Honey’s “good morning” honey cafe was discovered by ABC News affiliate WJBF-TV in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The cafe, located on the same street as the original Honeypot, is located at 1521 W. Main St. W. in Winston Salem, North Carolinians hometown.
The owners, who have since relocated, were trying to raise enough money to open a cafe and make their own honey.
They have been selling their honey to local businesses, such as Sweetie Bar, Sweetie Pie, Sweet Tooth Café and even the city’s local schools.
“We were really worried about how we were going to survive,” one of the owners, Stephanie Glynn, told WJF-TV.
“We are raising money for the children, and we have a little bit of money to cover the rent and food costs.
We need some more help to go forward, and this is a great way to do it.”
Glynn said they have about $2,500 in the bank, but the cafe is in a “tough spot.”
The cafe is about a quarter mile from the home of the family that built it.
The owners have been able to make about $100 per day from their honey.
Glynn said that they are hoping to raise another $50,000.ABC News’ John Grisham contributed to this report.
